Conductor joins Meta: when does Conductor Cloud shut down?

Conductor says its cloud workspaces become read-only on November 13 and close November 20. Here is what existing coding-agent users can move or export.

Conductor, the tool for working with multiple coding agents, announced on November 4, 2026 that it is joining Meta. The most immediate question for its users is what happens to their work. Conductor says its hosted Cloud service will become read-only on November 13 and shut down on November 20. Existing users can keep using the local Mac app for now, but the company says that app will begin winding down in early 2027.

What are the Conductor Cloud deadlines?

According to Conductor's published timeline, new users can no longer sign up or download the app as of November 4. Existing free users cannot upgrade to Pro, while current Pro users can keep their Pro features without charge. Cloud workspaces become read-only on Friday, November 13: users can still inspect chats and export data, but cannot send new messages. On Friday, November 20, the hosted service closes and Conductor says it will begin deleting Cloud user data.

The company says active subscribers will receive a refund. It also says the local version will continue to get new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027. Those dates describe Conductor's announced plan; anyone relying on the tool should check its current status page or announcement before a deadline.

How can users save their coding-agent work?

Conductor documents two paths. A Cloud workspace and its chats can be moved to a Mac by right-clicking the workspace and choosing Transfer to local. For a broader archive, users can open Settings, then Account, then Export data. Moving a workspace to local may preserve an active workflow, while an export provides a separate copy of the history. It is sensible to confirm that the transferred workspace or downloaded archive actually opens before the Cloud shutdown.

Conductor says its team can help with the transition. It also says it has not sold or trained on user data and plans to delete all remaining Conductor app data when the app shuts down in early 2027. That is the company's statement, not an independent audit by VIBPS. The November 20 Cloud deadline is earlier and matters to anyone whose work is still hosted there.

What does joining Meta mean for the product?

Conductor's announcement promises a new interface early next year, but gives no feature list or access details. It does not say that today's Cloud workspaces will automatically appear in a future Meta product. The safe reading is narrower: the team is joining Meta, the existing hosted service has a dated closure plan, and the local app has a longer but limited support window.

For makers who use agents to build software, this is a practical reminder to keep project code, instructions and important decisions in places they can control. Agent chats can contain useful reasoning, but a product's own source repository and documentation should remain usable when a particular agent interface changes. VIBPS has not used Conductor for this report; the details come from its announcement.
