Cookie & Tracking Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
VIBPS uses cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage and similar browser technologies. Some are necessary for the service to work. Optional analytics technologies are used only after you consent.
Necessary storage
Privacy preference — vibps.privacy.consent in localStorage records whether you accepted or rejected analytics, the consent-policy version and the time of your decision. It remains until you change your choice, clear browser storage or VIBPS replaces it with a newer consent version.
Consent receipt ID — vibps.privacy.consent_id is a random identifier used only to keep a minimal record of your privacy choices for accountability. It is not used to build a browsing profile or to enable analytics.
Authentication/session data — Supabase may store authentication session information in the browser when you sign in. This storage is necessary to keep you authenticated and provide account features. Its exact browser key may vary with the authentication configuration.
VIBPS may also use necessary browser storage for functional preferences such as interface settings. Necessary storage cannot be disabled through the analytics consent control where it is required to provide a feature you request.
Consent records
When you accept, reject or change analytics settings, VIBPS records a minimal server-side consent receipt containing the random consent receipt ID, whether analytics was allowed, the consent-policy version and the server time of the decision. The receipt does not contain analytics events, raw search text, passwords or authentication tokens. Consent receipts are retained for up to 36 months to demonstrate privacy choices and are then deleted.
Optional analytics storage
The following VIBPS analytics storage is created only after you accept analytics:
vibps.analytics.visitor_id — a pseudonymous visitor identifier stored in localStorage so visits can be understood across sessions.
vibps.analytics.session_id — a pseudonymous identifier stored in sessionStorage for the current browser session.
vibps.analytics.last_seen — a localStorage timestamp used to recognise returning visits.
When analytics is enabled, VIBPS may send product-usage events to its analytics infrastructure, including Supabase-backed first-party analytics and Vercel Analytics. These technologies are disabled before consent.
What analytics measures
Analytics may measure page views, app views, launches, likes, saves, follows, comments, searches, submissions, acquisition sources and returning visits. Analytics is used to understand whether VIBPS is useful, improve discovery and identify product problems.
Changing or withdrawing consent
You can accept, reject or later change your analytics choice. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using the core VIBPS service. When analytics is rejected or consent is withdrawn, VIBPS removes its analytics visitor, session and last-seen identifiers from browser storage and stops optional analytics collection for subsequent activity.
Browser controls
You may also delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Clearing the VIBPS privacy preference may cause the consent banner to appear again on your next visit.
Updates
We may update this policy when our technologies or providers change. If a change materially affects consent, VIBPS may ask you to make a new privacy choice.
